More about parking in LjubljanaTrubarjeva cesta 31a sits inside Ljubljana's pedestrian-only Old Town zone, so you cannot park directly in front of the apartment. The good news is that several well-maintained options sit within a 1–10 minute walk, and at least one of them is open 24/7 with credit-card payment. Below is the approach we recommend to most guests arriving by car, based on what has actually worked for hundreds of stays.
On the day you arrive, drive to Resljeva open-air parking (about 50 metres from the door). Drop your luggage, walk to the apartment to check in with Mak, and then move the car to wherever suits the length of your stay. Resljeva is the fastest unloading point because the road in front of it is accessible to vehicles, while Trubarjeva itself is closed to general traffic. The rate is 3.00 EUR per hour or 24 EUR per day, paid by card or cash at the meter.
For a 1-night stay, leaving the car at Resljeva is usually simplest. For 2–3 nights, either Parkirna Hiša Kapitelj or Parkirna Hiša Komenskega give you a covered, secure spot for 30 EUR per day, both about a 5-minute walk away. For 4 nights or longer, the train station parking at Vilharjeva is the clear value pick at 11 EUR per day — a 7-minute walk via Resljeva and Trubarjev most (Trubarjeva bridge), past Dragon Bridge. If you're staying a week, the savings versus Resljeva add up to roughly 90 EUR.
Paid on-street parking in the surrounding streets (such as Poljanski nasip and Resljeva) is charged 6:00–22:00 at 1.70 EUR per hour, with a flat 2.00 EUR for the full 22:00–6:00 night window. Most curbside zones near the Old Town have a 2-hour maximum, so they are not suitable for overnight stays — use a garage or open-air lot instead. The easiest way to pay is the EasyPark mobile app, which lets you start, extend, and stop a session from your phone without a parking meter. Cash and card work at the white Parkomati machines too.
EV charging stations are available at several garages around the city centre, including a number of stalls at the train station parking — convenient if you're parking there for several days. If you're driving a tall van, motorhome, or anything pulling a trailer, both Kapitelj and Komenskega have height bars (typically around 2.0–2.1 m), so the train station's open-air lot is the safer choice. Motorhomes should use the dedicated motorhome stop at Dolgi most rather than the city centre.
From the Ljubljana ring road, exit at Ljubljana-center and follow signs toward "Center / Železniška postaja" (train station). Resljeva cesta runs parallel to Trubarjeva and is the only vehicle-accessible street within the unloading distance. Your GPS may try to route you onto Trubarjeva directly — ignore it and stay on Resljeva instead. Once parked, the apartment is a short walk across to Trubarjeva 31a, just past the small bridge over the Ljubljanica river.
